It certainly has reached high temperatures these past few days, and the indications are that August will be more of the same. NYC offers something for everyone to enjoy, and the city is busy with special events and activities that the entire family will love! The only issue residents of New York and visitors to the city have is determining what is going on and which one to attend.

No matter where you travel, no place can equal the energy and spirit that you will experience in New York City. All countries that are acknowledged by the United Nations have representatives in New York City. with attractions and happenings that showcase each country's finest attributes. Therefore, if there's something special that you are looking for, you are likely to find it in NYC. And, when visiting during the upcoming summer months, you will find a wide variety of sought after events in New York at no charge! That's right, they are free. Some of these events are dancing classes in Prospect Park, outside movies at Bryant Park, art exhibits in Manhattan, and music in Central Park.

Personally, I have my own must-see list of New York City happenings that cannot be missed this summer. The first of the top five is to see Rent on Broadway in Bryant Park. Listen to the characters sing about living in the East Village. Outdoor films sponsored by Rooftop Films which screen popular movies at a number of different locations in Brooklyn. The third is SummerStage in Central park. You can watch some of the most popular acts each Sunday in the summer months. New York Philharmonic performing live in all 5 boroughs, I saw the performance in Central Park and it was excellent. Are you a sports fan? If so, you'll love number five on my list, as the US Open of Tennis comes to town for two weeks filled with drama and excitement.
